Book Description:

After graduating from Bowler University, the last place Cam Ruiz ever expected to find himself is his hometown. A bad job as a bouncer and worry over his mom’s health make living in Paradise anything but. There’s only one thing that can make his return any harder—running into the only girl he’s ever loved.

Tate Ellison made a mistake when she was eighteen, one that cost her the best thing she’s ever had. She’s always hoped the regret of losing Cam would fade over time. Too bad it’s only grown. She took comfort in the fact she’d never have to face him again, so his presence in Paradise throws her for a loop.

The pull between them is instant and when the truth of what happened years ago tumbles out, they share a mind-blowing kiss...which leads to more. But the past has a way of repeating itself. When all the cards are on the table, Cam and Tate must decide what they are willing to do to make it last.

My Review:

I have just really loved this series and I feel like I have been waiting on Cam's book for ages. He's always been there stalking around in the background and you just knew if you could ever get his story out of him it would be one that tugged at your heart and gave you all the feels!

Cam Ruiz returns to his small town home over concern for his mother who has been dealing with fibromyalgia, but it is the last place he ever expected or wanted to return to having run from there almost 5 years ago with a big dreams and a broken heart.

The dreams he had as a teenager playing Utope (Sims) with his girlfriend Tatum (Tate), their plans to escape the dead end little town they grew up in, to move to a big city, own a house with a little white picket fence and be happy together were ruined by one bad decision and now Cam is back to face the love of his life, the girl who broke his heart, Tatum.

I loved getting to know more about Cam, finding out that he was more than just a player..  He's a momma's boy, a romantic, a computer geek, a dreamer, a lover, and a protector.  His heart has never healed from the betrayal that occurred all those years ago and now back in Tate presence it all comes rushing back, the hurt and the love.  Tate is a great character.  She's both strong and weak and I think a lot of us can identify with her need to be everyone's everything. Tatum carries the world on her shoulders and forgets that she doesn't have to do it all on her own, that she has people around her that love and support her.  Instead of asking for help, in fear of looking weak or bothering people she tries to do it all and she ultimately puts her own happiness on the back burner for the health and happiness of others.

I enjoyed how Megan has us jump right into their lives, there is no slow build up, no fumbling around.  It's a small town, they can't avoid each other, the question is can they manage to 'live' with each other, can they settle their differences and be friends, will Cam leave Tate behind once again when the summer is over, will they find happiness with each other again?

I am a huge fan of dual POV, I really love being able to get to really know each character by their thoughts and there was no other way to have done this book.  Cam and Tate both have so much going on personally that with out that dual POV we would have missed out on the meat of this story.  Their interactions with each other and their families are emotional and will leave you bouncing from wanting to smile and cry through out the book.  You just can't help but root for these two and their families.  In fact I would love to get a story on Jamie, Tate's younger brother....You know just because I don't want all of this to end, haha!

This was a great ending to the Bowler University series, I loved how Megan incorporated little bits of the first two couples into Make it Last, it is always wonderful to get to revisit some of your favorite characters.  By the way Megan, hellooooooo, maybe a bit more on Danica, just saying  *Big Grins*

If you like Contemporary New Adult you won't want to miss the Bowler University Series and Make it Last is a fabulous story of love and second chances!

Make it Last can be read as a stand alone, but I do suggest you read the whole series, you won't be disappointed!

About Megan

Megan Erickson grew up in a family that averages 5’5” on a good day and started writing to create characters who could reach the top kitchen shelf.

She’s got a couple of tattoos, has a thing for gladiators and has been called a crazy cat lady. After working as a journalist for years, she decided she liked creating her own endings better and switched back to fiction.

She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, two kids and two cats. And no, she still can’t reach the stupid top shelf.
